A 16-year-old girl is dead after a house fire on Beardy’s First Nation.Rosthern RCMP and the Beardy’s fire department responded Sunday around 1 p.m. to a report of a fire, RCMP reported in a news release. The home sustained minor damage from the fire and smoke damage throughout.RCMP said investigators believe the teen was the lone person inside the home when the fire started. Her name was not released. RCMP said her identity will be confirmed by an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday.The cause and circumstances surrounding the fire are all under investigation, RCMP said. The RCMP major crimes unit north, forensic identification section, Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, the provincial coroner and Rosthern RCMP are all involved in the investigation.
