first_img Share LocalNews Dominica hosts 2nd UNDP Project meeting Thursday by: – February 16, 2012 Sharing is caring! 9 Views   no discussions Tweetcenter_img Share Share Photo credit: withfriendship.comThe United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will host its 2nd Project Steering Committee meeting in Dominica tomorrow.The Youth Innovation Inc project was developed in 2010 to respond to the challenges of young people between the ages of 15 to 19 across the Caribbean.The project was designed based on the CARICOM Youth Commission’s project which highlights the challenges and costs of not investing in youth.The YOUTH-IN Project is a US $3 million funded by the Government of Italy to provide an integrated approach to address identified needs and to support Caribbean Youth.The project titled “A Caribbean Network for Youth Development” seeks to bring together a number of implementing partners: CARICOM and OECS Secretariat, UWI, Ministers of Youth, NGO’s and young people from the region.This 2nd Project Steering Committee brings to Dominica 16 persons from Jamaica, Guyana, Grenada, St Lucia, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.Culture Minister Justina Charles and the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Mr. Stein Hansen are expected to attend Thursday’s event which will be held at the Fort Young Hotel from 8:30 am.Dominica Vibes Newslast_img
