Designer Desires Advance Studies

first_imgA young designer of bamboo airplanes is calling on well meaning Liberians, the government and philanthropic organizations to assist him get advanced study abroad.Speaking to the Daily Observer in an exclusive interview on April 27, Harry W. Gbusseh said his dream is to become an airplane designer, but can only achieve that dream through further education abroad.The young designer, who is currently teaching arts and craft at the United Methodist School in Ganta, Nimba County, explained that he has received numerous awards from those who appreciate his work but noted that he needs the required education to do more.“I didn’t acquire any formal education for what I am doing now. I grew up with it and need improvement to make my dream come true,” he said.The young craftsman has designed a four-engine airplane with seats for 500 passengers.Besides designing airplanes, he also drafts plans for houses, for which he never had any formal education.“My dream is to become an airplane designer so as to design varieties of airplanes; the sample I have designed is from local materials,” he said.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
